FAQ

Getting Started

Do I need prior Pilates experience?

No. ZEN Pilates welcomes beginners and clients returning to movement. Your instructor will explain the equipment, introduce foundational movements, and provide guidance based on your comfort and experience level.

Do I need to be flexible?

No. Flexibility is not a requirement for starting Pilates. Sessions can be adapted to your current mobility, strength, and experience.

Which class should I start with?

If you’re new, start with a Reformer, Tower, or Chair Foundations class. You may also begin with Mat Pilates or Barre, which welcome all levels. Foundations classes teach the essential movements with no experience needed, and your instructor will let you know when you’re ready for Progressions.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, fitted activewear that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are required and can be purchased at the studio before class or through the ZEN Pilates App.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first visit so you have time to check in and get familiar with the studio. For regular classes, arrive 5–10 minutes early. The studio door is locked when class begins.

The ZEN Zone and Private Sessions

What is The ZEN Zone?

The ZEN Zone is the dedicated private session room at ZEN Pilates. It brings the studio’s full range of apparatus together and is where every private session takes place.

Will every class use the complete Pilates system?

No. Group equipment classes focus on Reformer, Tower, and Chair. Reformer, Tower, Cadillac, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Step Barrel, Ped-o-Pul, and Mat are available for private sessions in The ZEN Zone, where Tatiana selects apparatus according to what she is teaching that day.

Can I book a duet with a friend?

Yes. Duet partners book and attend together and share a personalized session. A 12-hour cancellation policy applies; if one partner cancels, the other may cancel within the same window or convert to a private session at the applicable rate.

Health and Comfort

What is the psychology and neuropsychology connection?

Tatiana’s background shapes the attention she brings to learning, motivation, and individual differences. ZEN Pilates provides Pilates instruction only and does not provide psychological or medical care.

Can I participate if I have an injury or chronic condition?

Many exercises can be modified, but Pilates is not a substitute for medical care or physical therapy. Speak with your healthcare provider before beginning if you have an injury, chronic condition, recent surgery, or concerns about exercise. Please also let your instructor know about relevant physical limitations before your session.

Booking and Policies

Do classes and packages expire?

Yes. All single classes and packages must be used within 30 days of the date of purchase. Please plan your visits with that window in mind when choosing a package.

Do you offer refunds?

No. Purchases are final once completed. If you are unsure which class, session, or package to choose, please contact us before purchasing and we will help you select the appropriate option.

What is the cancellation policy?

A 12-hour cancellation window applies to all classes and sessions. Equipment classes (Reformer/Tower/Chair): $15 late-cancellation fee; no-shows are charged the full $40 class fee. Mat and Barre: $10 late-cancellation fee; no-shows are charged the full $22 class fee. Private, duet, and trio sessions: late cancellations and no-shows are charged 100% of the session fee.

What if I arrive late?

To keep classes focused and uninterrupted, the studio door is locked when class begins. Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in. If you arrive after class has started, you will not be able to join that session, and the class cannot be made up or credited. Thank you for helping us protect the experience for every participant.
